The new book, The Jabezes in My Tree, focuses on the Burns and McPherson family members named Jabez. There were thirteen of them in the family line. starting in England in 1805. The Jabez name started in Bolton, England in the Joseph and Mary Burns family line and continued in America and then into James Peter and Mary Burns McPherson family line. Most of the Jabezes have unique stories. Two of the English Jabezes were prominent Temperance ministers. The first Jabez who came to America was an inventor and made a substantial impact on the coffee industry. The Jabezes in the McPherson line were part of the pioneer movement that settle areas of the United States and Canada. These Jabezes established communities and took an active role in politics and government.
