The Keyes went overland to the east coast, thentraveled by ship, and probably across the isthmus of Panaman, and then to continued by ship. David Lowery Keyes and his family settled in Benton County, between Corvallis and Philomath.

Tombstone Tuesday: David Lowery Keyes laid to rest in Mt. Union Cemetery, Benton Co, OR

Small world, huh! Seems to be a different branch of Lowery's, but likely a connection if we go far enough back. Might be a fun project someday! ;-)
