WORDLESS WEDNESDAY: A MYSTERY WOMAN FROM BENTON CO., OR

  1. I don't like to remain wordless about old photos. This tintype is the epitome of why I like the format so much. It's just an ordinary portrait of a young woman, but a detailed scan shows a nice depth of character and detail. I suspect it is from the early to mid-1870s, if that helps. Regards, Brett

  2. I believe it comes from a set of photos taken in 1877 at the time of the marriage of the youngest daughter of David Lowery Keyes. In my fantasy world, I hope that I have found a picture of Susan J Ward Keyes, wife of David, and mother of the bride, but .... .
